FDNY Firefighter Exam Information Update.

Date- testing to begin late February/early March 2012. Actual Testing is expected to run for a 5 week period.

An on-line Tutorial is expected to begin 1/11/12. FDNY will have Information and Tutorial Nights scheduled to begin the week of 2/6/12. These will be a one-time, one day only for each applicant to attend an in-person event at one of approximately 35 locations. There will be various dates. FDNY Firefighters and Fire Officers will be needed to staff these events and be trained on an overtime basis. I recommend all members make themselves available. FDNY headquarters has confirmed that DCAS states applicants will be allowed to re-schedule their assigned test date one time. The FDNY Hispanic Society does not recognize this as a guarantee. If you must re-schedule try to reschedule for an early test date. If you try to reschedule there is no guarantee on when or where you will be sent to take the test. It will be by availability. If you were scheduled to show up and are a no-show, however, you will not be allowed to re-schedule.

To prevent the possibility of cheating and disadvantage to earlier test takers there are expected to be multiple forms of the exam and a randomization of questions as is done on all NYPD exams.

All applicants should be receiving email blasts from FDNY Recruitment Unit on a regualr bi-weekly basis with this information and updates. Admission notices should be received from DCAS by 1/27/12.
